I Can't Breathe
Ephesians 5:11
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
I sincerely think that most police officers are public servants who love the people and communities they serve. Law enforcement is a noble profession and I thank God for these brave men and women who put their lives on the line to keep everyone else safe.
Unfortunately, like weeds among the flowers, there are some law enforcement officers who do not serve and protect with the same honor as their peers. The sad reality is that there are some wicked and racist officers working in law enforcement agencies across this country.
However, what bothers me most is that the good officers choose to accept and tolerate this despicable behavior rather than report and eradicate it. These people are aware of the evil in their midst and choose to remain silent. As President John F. Kennedy famously said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
As a nation, we can no longer stand idly by and allow this evil to flourish in our land. The despicable cancer of racism must be removed from our nation's law enforcement agencies. The time has come for the good officers to uphold their oath to serve and protect their communities by exposing the wickedness within their ranks. It must happen NOW! If these good officers remain silent while some of their peers continue slaughtering the very innocent people they swore to protect, then they bear equal responsibility for those deaths and are just as wicked as those murdering and killing their fellow man.
Law enforcement agencies all over the country need to be pruned. Rip out the weeds, carve out the cancer, and hire people with integrity and character. Honor their virtue by paying them well. Train them to protect citizens and to serve the public!
Cleaning up law enforcement is a big job. It is understandably a process and will take some time, but today is the day we must begin to make progress!
