My Faith is Not Working...

We just aerated our lawn. Aeration is the process in which a machine punctures the lawn or soil with holes so that you can lay grass seed across your lawn.

Killing the weeds, aerating your lawn, laying new grass seed, and watering the grass consistently takes a lot of work and effort. The picture above shows you how my lawn currently looks.

Recently, I received this text from a good friend of mine who is also a pastor.

I don’t know man. I’ve been frustrated over waiting to see the manifestation of my faith, prayers, and work.

I can relate. As a matter of fact, I feel just like my friend right now. And if you’re honest with yourself, you can relate too.

Case in point.

If you refer to the picture of my lawn again, it would look like my faith, prayers, and work are not working. There is a lot of dirt and little to no manifestation of green grass.

while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
— 2 Corinthians 4:18 NKJV

Your eyes can deceive you!

What would happen if I suddenly quit working on this lawn? I would definitely not see the manifestation of my work.

What if I continued to work on this lawn believing and trusting that my work will someday manifest? In due season, with consistent faith, prayers, and work, this lawn will be GREEN. So it’s just a matter of time before this dirt manifests into beautiful green grass.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
— Galatians 6:9 NKJV

Say this out loud, “In due season, my work will manifest!
