Progress Demands Patience
I heard the Lord say three words to me. And this phrase He shared with me, isn’t just for me. It's for you too.
Progress demands patience.
Progress demands that you employ and put patience to work for you.
Progress demands that you are consistent, constant and remain the same throughout the seasons of your life. That's what progress demands.
You and I live in a time now where we feel like the microwave and the WiFi at Starbucks are too slow. We are spoiled because we are so use to getting everything now.
But anything worth getting, is worth waiting for.
That's why ingredients in a crock pot are so delicious. It’s worth waiting for. The taste of food from a crockpot is better than the taste of food from a microwave.
Say this out loud, “I am patient”
That means you are consistent and that you will remain the same.
You are progressing.
Progress is not always instantly seen.
Stacy and I were talking about our 3 year old daughter Zage. She’s getting taller but she is only as tall as my kneecaps. I remember when she was 21 inches long and weighed 6 pounds. She has progressed over time. She's growing.
We have to be patient to see progress.
It's not like she woke up one day and and you know, she was three feet tall. No, we didn’t see her progress overnight. We had to be patient.
If everything happened instantly, there would be no need for this word called patience. If your faith produced everything instantly, there will be no need for the word patience. But it's faith and patience that inherits the promises of God.
You have to employ patience, in order for faith to continue.
If you've run out of faith, you've run out of patience. And if you run out of patience, you've run out of faith.
Say this out loud, “I am patient”
And while you are being patient, just go ahead and be kind too.
Sometimes in our endeavor to be patient, we are mean to others.
No, no, no, no.
That’s not Christ-like.
We are called to be patient and we are called to be kind.
If you're willing to stand forever for something that you believe God for, you won't be standing long. It will manifest. I know this through experience. I am a living witness.
The longer it takes…The longer it lasts...
In what areas of your life do you need to employ patience?
