Sky High Dreams
I’ve had a deep love for airplanes and the thrill of flying from a young age. I remember the excitement of flying alone on United Airlines from California to Mississippi and back to visit family, the joy of taking off and landing, and the rush and excitement of being above the clouds.
My dad served in the Air Force, and there was a time when he and I had the amazing opportunity to fly on a massive C5 Galaxy cargo plane.
I have also flown in small single-engine propeller planes with friends who are private pilots.
On one unforgettable birthday, my wife blessed me with a gift that left me speechless: a one-hour flight lesson in a single-engine plane. When the flight instructor asked if I wanted to soar over my house, I couldn’t say yes fast enough.
As we ascended into the sky, the joy of seeing my children waving from our yard felt like a magical moment suspended in time—an image forever etched in my heart.
Yet, despite all these incredible experiences, a dream lingered in my heart. I longed to fly in a private plane, to escape the crowded airports and aisles of commercial flights and embrace the elegance of a turboprop or private jet.
A few years ago, I shared this dream with a dear friend who shares my passion for aviation. During a conversation about our dreams, He encouraged me to explore the King Air, a twin turboprop capable of seating 11 passengers including two pilots, perfect for my family of six. I eagerly searched for images online, saving a picture of this beautiful aircraft in my camera roll, and holding onto the hope that one day I would experience it for myself.
One day, another friend called with an exciting offer: would I like to join him on a whirlwind 24-hour business trip? Without a moment’s hesitation, I eagerly agreed. I quickly packed a bag and arranged to meet him at his hotel the following day. When I arrived, we jumped into a sleek black SUV, and my heart raced with excitement as we drove toward a private airport. I had initially thought we were simply driving to our destination, but the realization that we were about to take flight filled me with indescribable joy and anticipation.

As we approached the plane, I could hardly contain my excitement—there it was, the very aircraft I had dreamed about: the King Air! Every moment aboard that flight was a gift from God, filled with awe and gratitude. I captured photos and videos, wanting to freeze those memories in time.
One thing I’ve come to understand about God is that He often gives us a glimpse of our future. The good things we experience now are often just the beginning of what we will do more of in the days to come.
What are your dreams? What did you dream about as a child? What experiences do you long for? Which vacation spots do you want to enjoy? What do you wish to achieve, even if it feels impossible? What do you want to give away?
God promises to do exceedingly, abundantly more than you could ever ask or even dream of (Ephesians 3:20). He has amazing ways of delivering everything you need, from anyone, anywhere, at any time.
If He can do it for me, He can do it for you!
Keep dreaming!
